In our 29th year, we are planning an in-person competition if possible, but a virtual one if need be.
We could not function without support from so many people and organizations. Many thanks to our generous supporters!

Throughout the year, students study four broad subjects ("Sections"): Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils/Land Use, and Wildlife, focusing on the Key Points, Learning
Objectives, and other resource materials referenced here or provided. Students are also encouraged to attend
any specialized hands-on workshops that RI Envirothon may provide, and are encouraged to seek additional training from our partner organizations, professionals in the area of study, or other skilled or knowledgeable
individuals.
Using the knowledge they have acquired during the year, students, in teams of five, compete against other
teams and schools in the one-day, outdoor RI Envirothon Competition, held in the spring. The winning team
becomes eligible to represent Rhode Island in the North American Envirothon competition held during the summer
and, as available, may be offered internships or summer employment with partner agencies.
